From birth to adulthood, a child goes through many changes both physically and developmentally. A child may require extra support at any of these stages and PPP are to here to provide an assessment, treatment and reassurance at such time. Common presentations we see include a head turning preference, developmental delay, growth related musculoskeletal difficulties or following an injury. Our assessments are undertaken by our specialist paediatric physiotherapists, who have extensive background and experience in working with Children. Our sessions will last up to an hour and are provided at the Penarth Practice. In order to gain a full understanding of your child’s need, for consent and ongoing care at home, we ask that a parent or legal guardian attends the session with the child.

Our Paediatric Physiotherapists:
Kate Waters 
Kate qualified as a physiotherapist from the University of the West of England in 2008. She started out in Musculoskeletal Outpatients for Adults and Children but has specialised in Paediatrics since 2011. Kate has worked in a range of settings across both the NHS and private sector including paediatric intensive care, orthopaedic wards, community settings and within schools. Kate’s extensive experience covers all fields of paediatrics including babies and young children with developmental delay, paediatric orthopaedic conditions such as scoliosis and Perthes, growth related and/or injury led musculoskeletal issues and neurological conditions such as Cerebral Palsy. Kate’s passion is encouraging children to move, participate and most importantly have fun. Kate runs our Kids Pilates classes and 1;1’s at PPP. Kate is also a course presenter for the APPI for their Kids and Teens course, which is recognised both in the UK and Internationally.
Ellie Murphy
Ellie is a Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist and Matwork Pilates Instructor. Ellie graduated from Cardiff University with a BSc(hons) Physiotherapy degree in 2008, commencing her clinical career in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. Ellie went on to specialise as a Paediatric Physiotherapist in 2012, working across acute and community services in Cardiff, including the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales. Ellie developed enhanced skills within her speciality across all Paediatric health areas, including rehabilitation, respiratory care, early years, complex needs and musculoskeletal outpatients. In 2018 Ellie moved to Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board, further developing herself as a Senior Clinical Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist.
Ellie's Pilates career commenced in 2018, completing her Matwork training with APPI, and further enhancing her knowledge and skills with ante and post-natal Pilates training in 2019. Ellie has taught Pilates for 7 years, in both the private sector and with her NHS patients.
Away from work, Ellie can usually be found hiking, surfing, and enjoying endless adventures with her little boy, not-so-little dog and family.
