HUGH MALLESON

My name is Hugh Malleson. I qualified as an Orthotist in London in 1991 and have been in clinical practice since then. For the last 28 years I have worked in Cardiff for both a private company and for the NHS in a variety of clinical settings, ranging from general Orthotic clinics to specialist multidisciplinary environments where I have been fortunate to work with some excellent Consultants and Physiotherapists.

I currently divide my week between the NHS and independent practice at PPP, where I specialise in treating scoliosis using the internationally-recognised RSC spinal braces, with significant success in preventing progression to surgery.

Ortholutions are the manufacturers of this excellent system working in close collaboration with Dr Manuel Rigo, who is an internationally renowned expert in this field and I have recently completed the refresher course following the original qualification in 2014 My qualifications include a BTEC in Orthotics (the forerunner to the current BSc) and a multitude of postgraduate training courses ranging from Paediatrics to foot biomechanics. I have State Registration and am a member of the British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (BAPO). My other professional interests include Neuro Rehabilitation and Paediatrics.
